Start with the tube’s outside diameter.
A motor size and the outside diameter of its tube are different measurements. Use the tube manufacturer’s specification or measure the tube itself.

Dimensions are nominal cartridge reference sizes. Tubes can vary by manufacturer, material and finish. For a different tube, select “Custom size” and include the manufacturer and measured outside diameter.
Before choosing your set
Match both the tube name and outside diameter. A matching diameter does not establish that a material can be cut. For fiberglass, carbon fiber, plastic, metal or an unfamiliar tube, ask about material compatibility before ordering or cutting.
The starter bundle includes three sizes. The expanded option adds three paid cartridges for six total. The Works includes one of every size listed here.

- Start with the blade retracted. Fit the cartridge that matches your tube. Make sure it is fully seated and its lock is secure before bringing the blade toward the tube.
- Support the tube squarely. Feed it through the cartridge and tighten only enough to hold it without crushing or deforming it. Keep hands clear of the blade’s path.
- Make a light first score. Follow the cutting direction for the blade carrier supplied with your tool. Rotate smoothly and deepen the score gradually; don’t force a full-depth cut in one pass. Start on a scrap piece of the same tube.
- Retract before removing the tube. Check the finished cut before using the tube in your build. The demo shows the cutting motion and the finished result.
Use the instructions supplied with your cutter for its lock and blade-carrier arrangement. If anything binds, slips or fails to retract, stop and contact us.
Changing cartridges
Retract the blade and remove the tube first. Fully release the cartridge lock before removing the cartridge. Seat the replacement cartridge and secure its lock, then check that it cannot lift out and that the tube fits correctly.
Lock arrangements vary between cutter revisions. If the release or direction marks are unclear, send a photo and your order number before forcing the cartridge.

Use the blade type specified for the carrier supplied with your cutter. Different blade shapes and carriers are not interchangeable.
Retract the blade, remove the tube and follow the blade-replacement instructions supplied with your tool. After replacement, check that the blade is held securely and retracts clear of the cartridge opening before testing on scrap.
